The Key West International Airport is located about 4 miles from the historic district and across from Smather’s Beach. American Airlines, Continental Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Airlines and US Airways all offer service into Key West with a connection somewhere else in Florida. Delta Airlines also offers a connection to Key West from Atlanta aboard a small jet. There is also a great regional airline called Cape Air. They offer service from Ft. Myers and Naples airports, on the Gulf Coast and Fort Lauderdale airport on the East Coast. Flying into Key West usually increases the cost of your airline ticket but is more convenient. Upon arrival, you can take a taxi to your hotel. There is really no need for a rental car especially if you stay in the old town area. Getting around our 2 by 4 mile island is easy.
